Dedicated to bringing innovative and imaginative new concepts in film to the heart of America, the Nebraska Film Festival gives midwestern filmmakers an opportunity to tell their stories. The silver screen has seen vast innovation throughout its history in storytelling, technology and craft. NE Film Fest needed a brand that showcased cinematic histories and celebrated the future to come.

Delving into the grimier history and edgier sides of film, I chose to use grains, noise and slight sepia tones to pay homage to film’s more humble beginnings. The bold colored squiggles that merge with each other illustrating the flow of ideas and colorful imagination behind the art of filmmaking. The technicolor design helps to establish a retro feel incorporated through the wordmark, made of modern stretched typography. Combining all these elements allows NE Film Fest to be seen as a contemporary, spirited and modest place to share their work with the world.
